Bringing techniques that have long supported shrines and temples into forms for everyday living.
This HINOKI STOOL is born from the hands of a Miyadaiku who has devoted his life to working with wood.
Its smooth, flowing curves are made possible only through the mastery of traditional craftsmanship.
With use, the color and texture deepen, allowing the wood’s character to mature and evolve over time.
ARTISAN
Japan is home to an abundance of traditional craftsmanship, cultivated over centuries of history. In particular, the Setouchi region—rich in both nature and heritage—has been a place where artisans have passed down their skills across generations, preserving them with unwavering dedication. The techniques and knowledge refined over many years are more than mere expertise; they are a living spirit held within the artisans’ hands.
RO PROJECT honors this craftsmanship while embracing creative approaches that allow these skills to be carried forward to the next generation. Together with the artisans, we continue to explore new ways to keep these traditions alive.
